IN THE BEGINNING

Carac Group is unique in that the company is still owned and driven by the same clever bloke that started up in 1988. As a young boy John Burling started out fixing neighbour’s lawnmowers in his Dad’s shed. There were often returned them not only fixed, but often with a few useful modifications much to the delight of the client. John’s talent for fixing things, inventing things, product innovation and improvement, coupled with his enthusiasm, is at the core of the success of Carac Group today.

A FAMILY BUSINESS

Carac was established to produce a unique and innovative range of patented trailer couplings. This quality range increased over the next few years to cover agricultural, road and boating related couplings and components. Many of New Zealand’s leading boat and trailer manufacturers use Carac components daily to complete their products. During this growth Carac Group has remained a family business with New Zealand designed and made products.

WORLD CLASS ENGINEERING

In 2000 Carac began modernising its manufacturing plant. Today Carac Group is home to the world’s fastest fibre laser cutter and offers a wide variety of services and capabilities in house. This has enabled Carac to grow their client base and the team now produces components for the automotive, agricultural, marine, engineering and utility industries within New Zealand and around the world.

AT THE FOREFRONT IN TECHNOLOGY

Leading edge laser cutting , high precision Water Jet cutter with 5 axis and rotary cutting, a high definition CNC Plasma with gas cutting creating large capacity profile cutting, CNC Press brakes, CNC Lathes, CNC Mill, many fully automatic robot welders, mechanical and hydraulic power metal presses 1 ton to 500 +, auto drilling and tapping machines, fully automatic band saws, pipe and solid rod/bar bending machines,RHS, Pipe Rolling and zinc plating are all in house.
